Hampden County Sheriff's Office Hampden County Sheriff's Office Ludlow, MA Ludlow, MA Full-time Full-time $52,665 - $62,866 a year $52,665 - $62,866 a year The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Re-Entry Assistant who will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the Mentorship Program, including Senior Mentors, Volunteer Mentors, Mentees, individuals with criminal justice histories and in-custody participants, maintaining statistical data for purposes of research.
The Re-Entry Assistant will recruit potential Mentors and Mentees, promote the Mentorship Program, provide training to all Mentors and coordinate Mentor/Mentee activities.
The Re-Entry Assistant will work in collaboration with the Reentry programs across all HCSO sites, assign program Mentees with appropriate Volunteer Mentors, and provide ongoing re-evaluation of the Mentor/Mentee relationship to ensure compliance with program requirements.
The Re-Entry Assistant must possess strong Microsoft Office suite skills.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in counseling, criminal justice, social work, rehabilitation or related field, or three (3) years equivalent experience required.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders required.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in casework management principles and practices, and how these apply to the public offender population.
Ability to develop, evaluate and properly utilize in-house and community resources applicable to the community re-entry of public offenders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to prepare effective, concise and accurate written reports.
Highly developed organizational skills inclusive of the ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate effective strategies for ensuring successful public offender community re-entry.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, inclusive of developing and maintaining productive human service provider/client relationships.
Ability to conduct group and individual orientation training, ongoing training, effective client supervision.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with community-based agencies, state agencies, clinicians, landlords, and other organizations/individual representatives providing potential services to the client population.
Physical health necessary to perform job duties and responsibilities.
Valid Driver's License.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
